THE BENEFITS
Clients
2S-LGBTQ+ people who are wanting to access your services are looking for clues indicating that they are welcomed. People will believe that you are unsafe until proven otherwise. Make it easy for someone to choose you because they know you’re working on creating more inclusive and accessible spaces!
Employees
Employees are more productive and meaningful team members when a workplace culture is welcoming and supportive. Help to shape the internal workplace culture by participating in the program and supporting existing 2S-LGBTQ+ employees or attract new ones!
Community Leader
People expect and deserve the right to feel comfortable to either access services or work in a space that is supportive and inclusive of their identity. Create an industry standard by participating in the program and becoming a community leader!
THE NEED
Lack of Community
Even though around 10% of the population identifies with the 2S-LGBTQ+ community and lots of progress has been made over the years, 2S-LGBTQ+ people are still feeling a lack of societal acceptance and the inability to be out about their identity.
Mental Health
The mental health of 2S-LGBTQ+ people is impacted by accumulated stigma, prejudice and discrimination, leading to higher rates of depression, anxiety and suicide than general population.
Lack of Inclusive Services
Studies show that 2S-LGBTQ+ people are more likely to either leave their home region to access more inclusive services, or hide their identity from their service provider, resulting in inadequate services and unmet needs.
